Day 53: A Friday Hash

Hash: Defined by Dictionary.com as, “a  mess, jumble, or muddle, a hash of unorganized facts and figures.” Welcome to my world, my brain!! I thrive in disorganization! I enjoy my ADD. I love conversations with people whose brains and topics also jump around in random fashion. I thoroughly enjoy watching people with tidy, analytic minds try to keep up, but get lost and confused in the chaos of the banter. Moving fast, randomly and spontaneously through my world is pretty much my modus operandi. Maybe that’s why I historically have a very difficult time with self discipline and more specifically diets? 

Back to my post here. Today, I will share some random thoughts; a hash of observations, facts and weirdness, just because it’s fun! Say it with me now, “Fun is FUN!”

  My Visitor

  A minute ago, there was a noise on the window screen next to my desk in my home office. I thought it was a wee house wren jumping around finding bugs. I opened my shades to be greeted by an 8 or 9 inch long Texas Spiny Lizard! Their coloring and markings are beautiful and they’re pretty docile. A neighbor’s daughter kept one as a pet for several months. It would ride around on her shoulder. Now, that’s cool!

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

• Today @KVUE, a local TV station tweeted this! It’s great news for us. All my FB friends are talking about how freaking cool it is outside this morning. Please note that 91°F is 32.7°C.

Texas: Where Hot Is Relative

• And for a completely different kind of “stache?” Ummm, well, it rhymes with hash! That’s how random things happen! There’s an app for that. It’s called stacheify.

Hey, I like it! Suits me!

• Green Jays are found in south Texas, Mexico or “tropical North America.” Hmm, wouldn’t consider Texas exactly tropical, but they’re a favorite with my family when we head south. Here’s a picture I took.

• And, because it’s Christmas in August? Well, I guess you should have time to prepare, so get started! One of my favorite traditions is having a “Family Tree, Christmas Tree”. Every year since the boys were born, I’ve added a photo frame ornament from that year. Okay, I’m a genius! 🙂
